Many of the ministries of the NC Synod are provided through synod committees. Their goal is to help the synod, congregations and members in their various areas of emphasis. Committee membership
Committee members are appointed by the bishop to serve two-year terms (most committees). Individuals can serve two consecutive terms. After a year off the committee, a person can be reappointed. Travel expenses to attend meetings are covered by the committee. Most, but not all, committee meetings are held at the synod office in Salisbury. The number of meetings varies with committees.
