Walking Together—Sharing Christ Stewardship Conversations

Walking together, Sharing Christ is the mission statement of our synod.  It means that we, together, are the church called to share Christ with one another and the world.

During late summer and early autumn of 2010, nearly 100 NC Synod visitors met with 91 congregations to have purposeful and intentional conversations about the mission we share.  The purpose of these visits was to hear how God changes your lives and uses you and your congregation to change the lives of others.  The visitors also shared some of the wonderful things we do together as the NC Synod.  They discussed how the money you and your congregation share through the synod’s treasury supports camping ministries, higher education, leadership development, new mission congregations, World Hunger, seminarians, congregations, disaster response, and much more.  Your ministry stories were shared with our bishop, his staff, and Synod Council.

In 2011 we plan a second round of visits.  We’ll target the congregations we were unable to visit last year.  We will offer a second visit to those we visited in 2010.

Please pray for open hearts and minds as we walk together, discovering how God is changing us, and changing the world through us.
