Passing on the Faith
“I tried to finish it!” Newly baptized child of God--Jack fell asleep reading his story Bible. His proud parents took this picture of him enjoying the contents of the Faith Chest given at Jack’s baptism by Grace Lutheran Church in Hendersonville NC.
Our group was hosted by the Iglesia Luterana Costarricense (Lutheran Church of Costa Rica.) In San Jose, we had opportunity to worship with the church in La Carpio and ate with Nicaragean refuge family who lives in La Carpio, the poorest area of San Jose. We discovered that the community is served by an inferior well system. After we returned home we helped to raise enough money to provide a new filtration system for that community.
Just a few of our LYO participants (Lutheran Youth Organization) in our annual assembly in Greensboro. Join us February 24-26, 2012 for yet another adventure in fellowship, Bible study, worship and praise.
Our Eastern Cluster LYO youth enjoyed their Rally at Our Saviour Lutheran Church in Southern Pines November 11-12. 78 youth and their adults shared faith, grew their Christian community, and elected their new Cluster Board at this youth-planned and led annual event. It was a joy to watch these friendships continue to blossom at the Hike-a-thon at Agape that next morning. All of the youth were excited about seeing each other again at February's LYO Assembly in Greensboro!
