Kimball Lutheran Church in Kannapolis,NC will be hosting Bishop Elizabeth Eaton on Saturday April 26th from 4-6pm to meet with Youth and Young Adults across the NC Synod. Come and hear a little about the Bishop and the ELCA's vision for Youth and Young Adults in the church. We would also like to welcome you to come and participate with us in Worship on Sunday April 27th at 10am where Bishop Eaton will be preaching for the Kimball 100th Anniversary. Register here

Join others from around the ELCA for the March 10th webinar on Framing Youth. (2pm) Society’s views and stereotypes of youth are based primarily on myths. Unfortunately, many of our ministry practices are influenced by these myths. This session will uncover some of the myths that cause us to frame our young people negatively and will offer practical ways to help you and your congregation to begin framing youth as children of God who have gifts to share and calls to live. The 2014 LYO Assembly spent time on Saturday learning about malaria and how they can make a difference. They already have! Their offering on Sunday was over $1,800. Amazing, generous, caring young people at work in the world. What a blessing. Each congregational youth group is also setting their own goal. And so on and so on... WOW!
Which of the faith practices will be our focus today, this month, this season? In the midst of all this - thank you for building relationships that last a lifetime. For sharing your stories of faith - youth & adults alike. You are a blessing to our synod.
My commitment to passing on faith includes helping congregations equip families to be places where faith is talked about, shared and deepened. I have the priviledge of spending time with some amazing young people. Our synodical youth events span the ages from 3-12th grade while also including young adults - YARPs (Young Adult Resource Persons) where my goal is to train them to serve our congregations.
