St. John’s: Blessing & Blessed

We may have gone to bless them, but they sure blessed us!

September 29, 2024 |

To celebrate the ELCA’s 11th annual day of service, “God’s work. Our hands.”—and also Grandparent’s Day—St. John’s, Taylorsville, decided to spend time in worship with the residents of Valley Nursing Center. We may have gone to bless them, but they sure blessed us! It was a beautiful day of worship and hymn singing. The Rev. Dr. David Mielke prepared a lovely message of hope for the residents. One of our youth drew Grandparent’s Day cards that we had professionally copied to distribute to residents. We also passed out balloons to celebrate the day. Our youth prepared a special song to sing for them. We all enjoyed it so much and hope to go back again soon!
